INTJ Variant Hypothesis
Architecture of the INTJ (variant) mind.
Given that various tests such as Myers Briggs attempt to show manifestations of brain type, there “must” be underlying Neuro Psych architecture that shows how we indeed think differently. Innate tendencies are readily seen within families so there “has” to be a genetic predisposition to certain thought process pathways. Like any true INTJ you will have theories and always consciously and subconsciously be making interconnections between observations and understandings (The frameworks we construct), hence for this discussion and eventual hypothesis I will go through how I came to the conclusions that I have. I have for quite a period of time now thought that there was a period of time where the older brain was supreme and that as industrialisation / division of duties appeared, the shift in focus has been more to the executive functional areas of the brain e.g. the prefrontal cortex. It is the reason why I began looking at the concept of animal mind. Animal mind is really basic instincts, but this goes beyond acting on impulses as it includes the visual mind and its overwhelming function of sensory understanding and observation. Think of the predator and awareness of surroundings leading to contingency theory and aspects such as sequence of events formulation. So if I used the analogy of a “cloudy day” on the savannah you would see that the environmental context has changed, some traits have been transferable but new ones have been rewarded. So of this new “savannah” you would see that aspects such as explicit memory are rewarded both in the educational system and other large corporate systems. The storage of explicit memory appears as though it can be placed in the prefrontal cortex whereas visual memory (From the Visual cortex) can be placed down the ventral inferior temporal cortex. It should be stated that the Visual cortex is excellent at pattern recognition (Which appears to be a precursor for forecasting result outcomes). Patten recognition are basically analogies, as well as determinants showing connections between observations. Hence, my theory would be that INTJs (Role variant types) have a well developed Visual cortex and utilise their Temporal Cortex to a far greater extent than other types (A more “visionary” perspective), we also have the ability to use our Prefrontal Cortex for more discriminatory investigations at the micro level. I.e. Big picture and small picture. Nb: It is almost like INTJs are energised by complexity that we can use our minds to achieve structured order (We revel and excel in unstructed problem solving). We are good at analogies (Which decribes the structure and is our leveraging tool) In our minds and can easily and visually manipulate them, almost as though the long term image memories stored in the temporal cortex are recycled through the visual cortex with any resulting pattern recognition subsequently firing so called action potentials into our prefrontal cortex I.e. Intuitive connection and conscious awareness. Memories as images. The Visualists. |
